This week: A special preview episode from Let\u2019s Talk About Treks<\/em>, a weekly Star Trek podcast hosted by the enigmatic Earl Grey and jaQ` Darino (aka David Moody).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their tagline is \u201can episodic review of today\u2019s visions of the future,\u201d<\/em> and most weeks, they\u2019re doing exactly that \u2014 breaking down new episodes of Star Trek as they air. From Strange New Worlds to Star Trek Scouts and everything in between.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have been incredibly supportive of The Prime Detective<\/em>. David, for example, was instrumental in guiding me through all the back end podcasting shenanigans, and they\u2019ve trusted me with this abbreviated preview from a show that normally lives behind a paywall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s called Segment 31<\/em> \u2014 a looser, more conversational series where David and Earl wander off the bridge and talk about whatever\u2019s on their minds: Comic books, politics, dog shows, time travel\u2026 and occasionally, science fiction fandom itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today\u2019s episode comes from that Patreon-only feed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This particular Segment 31 centers on David\u2019s trip with his partner Chris to Chicago in 2024 for a Battlestar Galactica<\/em> convention \u2014 and the genuinely wonderful way he chose to commemorate it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
